Ethnic clashes in Indonesia, 19 killed



At least 19 people have been killed in ethnic clashes in the Southeast Asian nation of Indonesia. The bomber struck shortly after noon in front of a nightclub in the West Papua province.

The Chinese news agency Xinhua reported this information in a report on Tuesday.

Adam Erwindi, a police spokesman and senior commissioner in Indonesia's West Papua province, confirmed the deaths in the ethnic clashes. He told local Metro TV on Tuesday that clashes between the two groups had broken out in the town of Sorong in West Papua.

At one point, a nightclub was set on fire. He said 19 bodies were later recovered from there.
